Principal Vidyanand (Ashok Kumar) is a hardworking and diligent person. Due to his honesty, he gets in the wrong side of Seth Dharamdas (Raj Mehra), who conspires with Vidyanand's pupil, Shyam Rao (Anoop Kumar), and has him sent to prison. Humiliated, she decides to run away with Gopal to another town in order to learn dancing at the hands of well-known Guru Kishinchand Sharma. They do find Kishin, who initially rejects them, but relents when he witnesses Shyama abilities.
