Chenalhó: en el corazón de los Altos

1930s, in the highlands of Jalisco. Emilia, a teenager, silently lives her sexual awakening with her adopted siblings, Caro and Martín. In search of her freedom, she flees into the bush where she poses as a young muleteer to survive among the living and the dying, among guards and deserters, unaware that Martín is stalking her. Emilia's path will lead her back to the ranch to defy her destiny and escape with Caro.

Christian, a former organized crime member, seeks redemption by founding Ángeles Soccer, a team that trains kids and women on a once crime-ridden lot in one of Mexicali's most dangerous neighborhoods, aiming to rebuild the community he once harmed.

In 1929, during the Cristiada, Ranulfo, captain of the Cristero army, kept a federal prisoner, whom he tortured and threatened. At another time, Eugenio, captain of the federal army, rebukes and mocks the faith of a group of Cristeros peasants who are weak but not defenseless.
