The Ordovicians

A short film made by, for, and about pinball fans. It demonstrates the look, feel, and potential of a planned full-length feature.

Animated iterations and recursions made 64 with 2" x 3" collages form a hypnotic bombardment of color and shapes, accompanied by music from Malian artist Luka Productions. 'This was an accidental animation. It started as a series of collages I cut up into small pieces so I could give them away, and ended up animating them under the camera before parting with them. Tattered paper dolls dream of alternate realities while quietly exploring the secret lives of their young caregivers. Created with found paper dolls cut from a 1920s newspaper, the film also explores the adult world's influences over young girls, and the girls' talents for discovering forbidden truths.
