Birgit is a pastor who has always lived a quiet, predictable life, closely following the path laid out by her parents. But one day, someone from her past unexpectedly shows up during a sermon—someone she once loved—she’s forced to revisit a part of herself she thought was long gone. This Danish movie "Out of The Darkness" ( in Danish 'De Forbandede år 2' ) is a continuation of the popular WW II drama "Into The Darkness" ( in Danish 'De forbandede år' ) and it portraits the Danish Resistance movements fight. This movie takes place after 1943 where the official politic of 'corporation' comes to an end, and the Danish Resistance movement is gaining traction. The movie follows the Skov family from 1943 to the end of WWII. The growing opposition to the occupation and the increased brutality of the Germans have fatal consequences for the family.

Young actress Sara is at the brink of a breakthrough. She has an audition for a potential lead role - the first in her career - in a feature film with a heavy subject matter. The mood in the room is accordingly tense. All eyes on Sara. As the casting takes a turn for the strange, Sara needs to face a dark chapter in her own past.

The film "Den, der lever stille" is an adaptation of the bestselling book by Leonora Christina Skov. The story is based on the author's own life and touches on a number of taboos and highly topical themes such as sexuality, guilt and loneliness. The novel has been at the top of the Danish bestseller lists for a full 62 weeks, has sold 120,000 copies and, not least, secured the author the book prize De Gyldne Laurbær. The film adaptation is directed by Puk Grasten, who has previously been behind the drama 37.
