A troupe of actors stranded in a small town take job as recreation directors in a sanitarium and hilarity ensues.

Eddie, a prim store salesman, gets locked in overnight and battles hoodlums.

The head of a big movie studio is pulling his hair out because the company is bankrupt unless they can find a writer for a smash comedy. An aspiring writer is awaiting outside the office and the producer agrees to see him. He listens while the writer tells his story and acts the numerous parts. The story is rotten, but the producer lets him escape while vowing vengeance on any other author who would read his story aloud.

In this two-reel comedy, Edward Everett Horton is the pampered scion of a family, raised by a couple of prissy aunts. He does card tricks. Through various machinations, he winds up running a saloon out west, where he charms one of the two tough guys in town by taking away his tie and fixing a bow tie to him; the other, Jack Curtis, he bests at poker "for keeps!" and wins the heart of local good girl Violet Bird.

Eddie wants to marry a girl, but her father is strongly opposed to it. For her sake, she convinces him to at least meet Eddie.

Despite his fear of horses, Eddie Hamilton takes part in a fox hunt, in order to impress the daughter of his host, Colonel Calhoun.

Parrott is a hapless hunter in this predecessor to Tex Avery toons of the 1940s, and in a series of inventive gag sequences fails to capture squirrel, rabbit, chinchilla, bobcat, duck, and bear all in one reel.
