The Saturday Morning Murder

Only a handful of Yiddish poets remain alive. Chava Alberstein sets out to interview those last writers of Yiddish poetry, to hear their poems and stories. Along the way, she sings a collection of Yiddish folk songs.

Based on Ladislav Grossman's novel "The Bride", this drama was filmed back in 1984 in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, then the crew stopped filming, because protagonist Lisa Hartman had to promote her feature film "Where The Boys Are '84" in the States and they finally finished it on location in Wasserburg, Germany!

A comical exploration of the 50's in the Israeli Kibutz movement, when socialist values were reexamined following the death of Stalin. With their mentor and iconic leader gone, the members of the Kibutz have to face a political and social reality without a leader to encourage and unite them.
