The Lost Leonardo

In 2015 Omar el-Hussein staged an attack on Krudttønden and the Synagogue in Copenhagen. This documentary examines the circumstances that lead up to this horrible event.

Magomed is a thoughtful 10-year-old boy from Chechnya, who has just arrived in Denmark to seek asylum. His father has been both threatened and tortured by the Russians, and now the small family lives in the hope of being allowed to stay.

Arita and Balencha, two young girls and close friends are like sisters to each other. Most of their friends have moved to Buenos Aires, but even if your boyfriend is trying to tug you along, it takes courage (and money in your pocket) to say farewell to each other and the place you have grown up in. Music for Black Pigeons is the first collaboration between Jørgen Leth and Andreas Koefoed. The film poses existential questions to influential jazz players such as Bill Frisell, Lee Konitz, Midori Takada and many others: How does it feel to play, and what does it mean to listen? What is it like to be a human being and spending your whole life trying to express something through sounds? The characters wake up, rehearse, record, perform and talk about music. In some moments they are on the edge, the edge of existence, constantly challenging themselves. They listen. They devote themselves to finding a space to create a connection to something bigger than themselves. Something that will outlast all of us.

Slavik (34), former world champion in Latin American dancing is making a last and final comeback with Anna, his ten years younger new dance partner and girlfriend. Slavik is addicted to the limelight and the dance and he misses the rush. These days, however, his aging body is causing him severe pains, and his flaring temper puts his relationship with Anna at risk. The road to reclaiming the championships is a long, tough struggle. Slavik literally puts everything on the line in his ultimate push for the throne. Failure is not an option, yet failure is so difficult to avoid.

In an intriguing cinematic exercise that straddles fiction and documentary, 'Faderhuset' seeks to bare intricate workings of domination and manipulation, as ex-members of the notorious Christian sect Faderhuset direct scenes with well-known Danish actors, including Trine Dyrholm and David Dencik.

Estrid is on the threshold of advancing from childhood into young adulthood. Along the journey, she experiences a serious accident: falling from the window on the fifth floor while sleepwalking. Miraculously, she survives and returns to life with a remarkable willpower. But the fall remains a trauma in her body and her family. Especially her mother is anxious about losing her. The film follows Estrid's transformation and her family's healing process. Estrid must regain her body and ability to walk, but she also has to find out who she is and wants to be, as she embarks on the journey of becoming a young woman. To do so, her mother must deal with the fear of losing her and come to terms with letting her go.
