A married woman is living an unexcited life, until she meets a man who is able to put a smile on her face again, at least for a couple of days.

The protagonist, Bora, is a charming but mean-spirited gypsy, while his older wife, Lence, is submissive. Bora is in love with the younger Tisa, who is being offered in marriage by her father. The two get themselves in trouble and eventually have to flee. Tisa rejects her husband and she and Bora get married in the church, and their adventures continue.

Photographs, rare film material and dynamic editing, portray the triumph of socialist ideas and the way symbolically Yugoslavia moves toward the future dreams of the generations.

The film compares scenes from the frescoes of Serbian medieval monasteries with scenes of church councils held in churches. Relying on his pictorial sensibility (he graduated in History of Art), using symbols, real landmarks, without a narrative flow but accompanied by sound and original music, Petrović's short film Sabori, which is also a documentary, becomes a timeless film.

A group of partisans goes to destroy a German gas warehouse at Postojnska Jama. One of them grows distrustful towards the new commander, and it spreads among the rest of the squad. The situation culminates when the mentioned partisan remains cut off inside a cave.
