A short film containing a collection of clips from various Hollywood movies.

Collective manifesto by the members of C.C.I. It is a collective film, the result of an operation devoid of any aesthetic purpose: to verify the existence of any harmony between a fairly large group (twelve people) of members of the independent Cooperative. Someone, who had the idea, turned 60 meters of Ektachrome according to the moods –or discontent – of the moment and gave them to others to see. The others reacted, each with their own piece. It was then thought to call the film “circular letter”. It was not so simple and so quick: the operation, which started in June of ’68, ended in March of ’69.

The almost impassive recording of a common jacket hanging on a balcony slowly slides into the analysis of the mechanisms of perception, where the lines between reality and illusion are revealed somewhat labile.

In one of the three films Gianfranco Baruchello made in 1968 in response to the war in Vietnam, the artist carefully washes hundreds of coins in a bathtub, and then proceeds to cook and serve them at table.

The film is the story of the crude destruction, meticulously done by the artist himself, of a frozen turkey produced in America. The meat is placed in a wooden box and buried in a grave in a field. Dedicated to the fundamental concepts of the ‘lay military priesthood’ (terminology typical of the generals): discipline, honour and other sacred duties, the film is part of a trilogy by Baruchello against the Vietnam War. —Tate Modern
