A 55 hours journey, from Bucharest to Madrid, in a bus packed with Romanians sleeping on the floor, spending time in empty parkways or eating in small restaurants from the highways. A collective portrait of the children of Romanian emigrants in Spain, through the short clips they have in their mobile phones and their stories of nostalgia. The final trip of a Romanian to his native country, in the back of a hearse, with two Romanian undertakers who make all the mistakes they could have made. Three fragments from the lives of people who are dreaming about the day they will return home, but are too scared to completely reset, once again, their whole lives.

Australia

How do seven young people, former street children from Romania, get to see the Pacific Ocean? On 1 December 2008, a Romanian national team participates for the first time in the Homeless World Cup in Melbourne, Australia. The film follows the team from the formation of the squad to the end of the championship. The young people are from Timisoara and Arad, runaway children who now live in abandoned houses or who have managed to get a job and live in rented accommodation after going through orphanages or prisons. After taking a beating from many teams, the young Romanians manage to beat the USA. They are happy. They are all thinking of never going "home" again. It's warm and nice here, the people are nice. "In case I stay, I kissed you all!" says one of them cautiously. But after taking pictures of themselves on the beach with the ocean behind them and beautiful girls by their side, the seven return to Romania and get on with their lives.

It was 1978 and the Romanian dictator Ceausescu was in control of the country. Artists were being prosecuted and isolated due to their "unacceptable" background and views. Amongst them stood the extremely talented musician Rodion Rosca. Although he was a radio star, his debut album was never released.

Vlad, 38, works as a tour guide on cruise ships. When he started work ten years ago, he left behind a failed relationship and a small child: Max, his son, who is now almost a teenager. Vlad happens to come back to Romania for a week and tries to connect with his son and make up for the lost time.

Merry Circus

The film tells the story of one of the oldest circus families in Romania, descendants of the Globus Circus founder, Toma Zdebschi. Mina and Carol have been married for 55 years. They were both circus artists. Mina is 75 and Carol is 84.

The Network

The documentary follows and underground benevolent network of people who are buying chemotherapy drugs abroad and transporting them to Romanian patients, since in Romania chemotherapy drugs are not available.

An anthropological study of a small community in Sfântu Gheorghe, where the songs performed by the local choir are an important tradition. We see them singing as members of the choir and understand how their music becomes a bond of the community, present in moments of joy and sadness, at weddings and baptisms, but also at war.

The Village Called Sands

Every year on August 29 ("since the world and the earth", says a local in the film), the village of Nisipuri is celebrating: there is a bâlci whose spirit has gone all over the south of the country. The locals are very proud of their town, at least until they come to the comparison of the past with the present, when the balance inevitably tilts in favor of the former term. The documentary captures—through hand-held footage and long shots (let's not forget that the cinematographer is Andrei Butica)—the day before the big day, the preparations, the actual event, and... the breaking of the fair.
