Far from China

Five Hours. Six Countries. Seven Chapters. Eight Conflicts. Nine Women.

Paris. The year is 1969. Andreas Baader on the run from the law in Germany hides out in the apartment of the political intellectual Régis Debray who at the same time is serving what is supposed to be a long prison term in Bolivia.

A renowned art forger is trying to finish his version of a Lichtenstein painting but he can’t find any peace. He is visited by his mother a once famous actress of the Nouvelle Vague, her former husband a destroyed auteur, a greedy art dealer, and his ex lover a down and out junkie.

The story revolves around the lives of a group of international fashion models, focusing on the main character, Fabrice. The film examines the hollowness of his glamorous lifestyle, leading to self discovery and ultimately a personal catharsis (and his own death). The film is based on (really, inspired by) the French Book, L'Education Sentimentale, by Gustave Flaubert.

The story of a woman who decides to kill herself. She puts herself through a series of experiences that test the limits of what is humanly bearable in an ultimate attempt to find a reason to live.
