A young German travels in Botswana. On the banks of a river, he meets an old fisherman who takes him deep into the wilderness in his wooden boat. For example, one man enthusiastically cleans a text embedded in the floor, explaining that some of the letters are more difficult to clean than others - but without understanding the meaning of the text. Set in the center of German democracy, the film takes a philosophical approach to questions of politics and migration.

A man drives through a deserted landscape. Suddenly his car hits a person, seriously hurting or even killing him. The driver searches for the body, cannot find it - and must accept, that there is no one. Instead, he does find blood on the broken windshield. What happens when realizing that we kill - without being confronted with the dead?

In the film, three young Israelis confront themselves with their and thus their shared German-Jewish history. They try to restore the apartment of the Jewish Adler family to the way it looked before their deportation. But it turns out that the Holocaust means something different to them than it does to the German director who invited them to travel back in time.
