Druya is a small and old town. The most fascinating about it is not its history, not specific dates and names of people, but the atmosphere. Looking at the surviving walls and furnishings, the imagination itself depicts the history of this place. Sometimes in the empty half-abandoned architectural monuments one can feel the rumble of past epochs, the weight of centuries oversaturated with events.

War never changes

Due to the lack of places in Belarusian prisons, an OMON employee has to take in 3 political prisoners for 2 weeks.

In Belarus, a group of enthusiasts made the film "Abel" as a kind of message of peace. Starting from the first recorded murder of one person by another (the Cain and Abel brothers), the author of the film tried to create a situation in which the next organized war appears in all its futility and anti-humanity. The main points are not military scenes, but rather the relatively innocuous thoughts of the main character: El Pablo against his will was sent to war, with people to whom he does not feel hatred. The film "Abel" stands out primarily for its alternative approach to short films, while preserving at the same time many of the principles of the art genre.

A dystopian comedy with a utopian ending.

We are not talking about Belarusian cinema - we are creating it! The boring official cinema of Belarus is being replaced by alternate cinema from such directors as Ilja Bozhko, Artem Lobach, Sergey Kolosovsky, cinema filled with new meanings and vivid images.

On August 9, presidential elections were held in Belarus. The results, according to which Alexander Lukashenko won, were not recognized by 14 countries. Protests and mass detentions of protesters have been taking place in the country for more than two months. Documentary director Maxim Shved, in order to capture the mood of people and their political views, installed cameras in the cars of two taxi drivers, Pavel and Anna. They talk to passengers, and inevitably their dialogues come down to politics.

In this cinematic zine, directors scattered all over the world adapt to screen hilarious and poignant Belarusian news stories. Featuring phone thieves, TikTok storks, the tiniest castle in the world, and victims of the depression epidemic.
