Valley of Memories

When Amal's father falls on hard times, he sells his land to his neighbor, Mamdouh, who falls in love with Amal. But Amal is in a relationship with Mourad who starts avoiding her after he learns of her father's crisis, prompting Mamdouh to confess his love for Amal and ask for her hand in marriage.

On his way home one day, Morsi finds a child at the side of a road. He feels sorry for her, and takes her home with him to raise alongside his own daughter, Saniyya. The two girls become quite close over the years. When Morsi dies, their lives take very different paths, after a lot of suffering. While Sanniya falls in love with, and plans to marry, a wealthy man, Naimat falls into the grasp of a woman who is the ringleader of a number of beggars and pick-pockets.

Laila is a young woman suffering from paralysis who lives with her stepfather after her mother died when she was two years old. She loves writing poetry. She sends her poems to the singer Mamdouh, who uses them in his songs, but Laila hides her true identity from him because she loves him and does not want him to see her disability, so that Mamdouh can reach her and be frank with her. The film is set around 1914 when Lebanon was under the Ottoman Empire rule. The empire enslaved men to work for free. Abdou goes to get Adla the engagement ring but he's arrested with others and are taken to cut lumber. Meanwhile the Ottomans prevent the wheat from arriving to certain villages because they want to defuse the ongoing resistance operations led by Abou Ahmed. Adla travels to where some say Abdou is held prisoner and she meets with Abou Ahmed. She along other villagers start helping the resistance get the wheat to the people. When they accomplish their mission, Abou Ahmed, freed Abdou and others escape because now they're wanted, but on a promise to return and to continue fighting.

Mamdouh, a famous singer, meets Laila on the shores of an Fayum during the shooting of a movie. An Attraction between the two prompts Mamdouh to propose to Laila. However, Laila's Father is reluctant to accept the marriage proposal and asks for some time to think. Laila then discovers that her mother Rawhey is not dead as she was led to believe, and is in fact a belly dancer in a nightclub. Laila's father tries to guide her mother back on the right track for the sake of their daughter's reputation and her future as Mamdouh's wife, but the owner of the nightclub where Laila's mother works starts to blackmail everyone concerned. Mamdouh starts to become suspicious of Laila's odd behaviour seeking comfort from his cousin Soheir who loves him. Will Mamdouh discover the truth, or will he marry his cousin Soheir?
