A trip on the Swedish lake Mälaren by a 115-year-old steamboat. The journey between Stockholm and Mariefred takes 3,5 hours. The steamboat Mariefred was manufactured over a hundred years ago and is one of the last steam-powered vessels on the lake. The steam whistle sounds when Maja, as she is called in Mariefred, steers into the bay towards the small town. A fanfare for the summer!

Prince Eugen painted his parents' royal palace as a dark castle. Born with a gold spoon in his mouth, he chose a different life than the royal family wanted. He took a political and professional position and went his own way. Eugen became the painting prince and built his own palace at Waldemarsudde which he gave away after his death. Prince Eugen has just turned 150 and celebrated his anniversary at Waldemarsudde, the castle at Djurgården that he left to the Swedes. The Prince's path to independence and creation was crooked. As the youngest son in the Bernadotte family, the son was to become an officer. Of course, what others found, of course, to choose life partners and occupations, Eugen relinquished. But life as an artist and at the same time as a representative of the royal family gave him no rest. Did he succeed in his painting just because he was a prince? He didn't feel at home anywhere.

Elsie Johansson is the girl from poor Sweden who broke through at the age of 48 and became a successful author. The novel about working-class girl Nancy became a bestseller. Elsie Johansson has traveled country and kingdom and talked about writing, about women's creative power, about love and eroticism, about daring to do what she did; resign from Posten and create a life of your own. But leaving your roots requires a high price.

The legendary sexual enlightenment Elise Ottesen-Jensen (1886-1973), nicknamed Ottar, was the first to speak about the unspeakable. She was a traveling lecturer on contraception, childbirth and the woman's right to her own body in the 1920s and 30s. Despite the fact that it was forbidden. Ottar was born in a Norwegian high-church environment where her mother Karen gave birth to 22 children.
