A Unique Opportunity

A Chinese couple visits the daughter they gave up for adoption 30 years ago.

Benoit turns 13 and develops an intense crush on his godmother, Marion. As they lie on beaches in the summer, she humors him by talking about the mysteries of women.

Keren is a performer, filmmaker, activist. At 20, she left Israel to grow as an artist and person. After eight years in Europe, she feels the need to return to the contradictions she left behind. She joins the rallies against Netanyahu, volunteers with Palestinian families, finds love, keeps filming. The October 7 attack occurs. The war and genocide begin. The fracture keeps deepening.

Dressed in a wedding gown, the Milanese artist Pippa Bacca leaves her native city in direction of Jerusalem. Accompanied by fellow artist Silvia Moro, both women hitchhike their way across the Balkans with a clear aspiration: opening themselves towards ‘the Other’. As their travel-performance unfolds, the artists decide to take two different paths and Pippa is later found dead in Turkey. The film embarked on a journey in quest of her memories.

6 years of exile, 948 dialyses, 2000 injections, Meruzhan, like his travelling companions, is waiting for a transplant and a right of residence. Between mythical narrative and bureaucratic nonsense, the film traces their struggle for life. To parasitize the real and to save them from desperation, they use symbolic gestures, humor, and they laugh, even of death!
