Operetta singer Adolf Berg will be called up for military duty just as he gets assigned a major role in an operetta. On the train he meets Ulla Wern and complications occur.

Wholesaler Paavo Markkanen faces a month in prison for drunk driving. Accustomed to an easy life, he avoids prison by switching places with his doppelgänger, the vagrant Knip, but ends up having to do strenuous physical training in his place. The aristocratic count Hägerskiöld is very proud of his swine Helen of Troy who wins a prize every year as the best swine in the area. This year his son Claes-Ferdinand needs money to get married with Pyret, a chorus-girl. His father won't give him any so he steals the swine, expecting that his father will give a reward to anyone who can find her.

Åke is employed as a singer in a revue tour and his uncle Karlsson becomes the tour bus driver.

Aldor Johnsson is an old but unsuccessful criminal.

Lisa Larsson, dancer at a theater, witnesses a traffic accident and banker Brenner's private driver asks her to be a witness. When her friends see her talk to the driver, they start to believe that she is Brenner's fiancée. The manager of the theater, Gravander, gives her the leading part in his latest show, in order to befriend Brenner. In a small mine town north of the circle, Torsten lives, working with his sister Eva and comrade Lars, who is engaged to Eva. The town's bat-owner has a daughter, Märta, who, after trying out the big city life, has returned to the village for a while, and begins to flirt openly with Torsten, but also with Lars. Märta hears of an old gold treasure that will be hidden somewhere in the mountains, trying to seduce both of them and seek both friends to find out the treasure. Neither Lars nor Torsten knows the plans or swarms of others, but Eva notices how Märta attracts Lars away from her.

Celestin is the singing teacher in a monastery and Denis is one of her students. They both dream about the life outside. (It's a Swedish version of the famous vaudeville-opérette "Mam'zelle Nitouche").
