July 4th: The San Patricio Church Massacre

Blanca Luz Brum traveled an unusual path, through twentieth-century Latin America, actively participating in the intellectual, political and artistic movements of Uruguay, Chile, Argentina, Peru and Mexico. It is today a symbol of female emancipation in Latin America. The versions about her life are varied and dissimilar, the testimonies of those who knew her, full of contradictions.

A young Mapuche from Bariloche claims his identity and his culture. A Guluche journalist travels through these territories trying to recover the memories of the elders about the war and the massacre of his people. A historian from Buenos Aires finds in the archives the documents that allow him to prove who financed the army and what they obtained in return.

Through important testimonies, the director Miguel Rodríguez Arias intends to reveal facts that intertwine the life of the singer with that of his people. His desires, his virtues, his defects and his defeats. It is the story of a captivating voice, the reflection of a soul that transcends borders and languages with its art.

The death of Monsignor Enrique Angelelli, which occurred on August 4, 1976, was reported by the military government as the result of a car accident. However, the incident concealed a network of religious, political, and economic interests.
