The White Flower by the River

The film recreates the situation as the struggle against French colonialism from 1945 to 1954. Tam is a young woman who plays Vietnamese traditional one-string zither and sings Xam folk songs. After helping a revolutionary soldier, her grandfather is shot dead by the enemy. Tam follows the revolutionary path, taking on the mission to Con Dao Island as a doctor to treat prisoners and work with the revolutionary organization.

A kind-hearted, considerate high school teacher quickly earns the admiration of her new class who sees her as an idol. Together, the students undertake a secret operation to help their beloved teacher sort out her personal life.
