Two Hussars

A strange combination of circumstances leads the forty-year-old engineer Igor into the hall of the old cinema, where the film session has already begun. The main character of the picture is the poet Belov, the same romantic loser, disappointed in himself and in everything - surprisingly similar to him. Moreover, Igor soon realizes that he is looking from the side at his own life. What is happening on the screen becomes a shock and revelation for him. In the dark hall of the mysterious cinema, fate gives Igor the only chance to start all over again.

During the performance, a male stranger (Ivan) sits next to the protagonist. The young girl is at a crossroads: her parents insist that she should enter a pedagogical institute. But when you are 18, it seems that the whole world is at your feet. Therefore, the night before the exam the girl makes an important decision...

The action takes place in a backwater small town. The story of the life of a married couple - Colonel Yagich and his wife Sophia Lvovna, a young woman, and their friend - a military doctor, who is called, like Sonechka's husband, Vladimir. Partly to spite Volodya the little man who once did not reciprocate her feeling, Sonechka married Yagich, who is thirty years older than she is. Soon the longing came - she did not love her husband. Soniechka rushes back to Volodya the little, and they begin a stormy romance...

Slow life in a small seaside town N is suddenly disturbed by a local scandal around a man who has recently passed away. Only his wife and his friend know where he was buried, and they refuse to tell the others, seemingly in accordance to his last will. Each character seeks answers to the questions of their own, but they are searching on the outside, inquiring society and each other, so their efforts are futile. Something is about to happen.

The film is based on the story of Anatoly Kurchatkin "House of Women". A tragicomedy about four women of three generations who lives in a tiny Moscow apartment: a sick grandmother, constantly requiring attention; a mother, very peculiar woman, who still hoping to somehow arrange her personal life; and two daughters, each of whom has a lot of problems.

Tolla is an unemployed translator whose wife is leaving him. Despondent and weak, he submits to the suggestion of an acquaintance to have a contract placed on the man that his wife is seeing. Instead, however, he arranges for the hit to be placed on himself. Before the contract is executed, he develops a relationship with a prostitute, and then changes his mind. In order to survive he takes the obvious course of action, which turns out to have possibly been unnecessary, and then he must deal with the guilt.

Klava, a lonely woman who is bored with her life, posts an advertisement seeking a male companion. Valentin, a retired circus performer, responds to her message and the two enter a dubious relationship.

Lidia Sheveleva, a correspondent for the newspaper "Time, Forward!", becomes a pawn in a big game, having received from an anonymous source compromising materials on Yegor Shubin, head of the legal service of a large holding company. On the assignment of her superiors, she writes a denunciatory article about a despicable thief with "the appearance of an English lord". Justice triumphs - the management of the holding company suspends Shubin from business and gives him a week to try to restore his good name ... But fate likes to joke, and it accidentally collides Sheveleva and Shubin again. At the close acquaintance with Yegor Lydia begins to doubt his guilt, and recent enemies begin their own investigation, despite the dangers and risking their lives.

Alexander Pavlovich Reznikov is short of two hundred rubles (in the 1970s, about one and a half months’ salary for an office worker) to pay for the travel vouchers. His neighbor, a moonlighting contractor named Yura, offers Reznikov a way to earn the money in a single day. To do this, Alexander Palych must be present at the demolition of an old wooden house in the role of a foreman, while Yura will bring in students for the job. He will pay them ten rubles each, while they themselves will receive two hundred and fifty apiece. Reznikov agrees.
