Upholding Grace

A young man returns home uninvited to his brother's engagement dinner only to find himself fighting for his sanity against the violent, mind controlling growth on the back of his head. (ALTER)

The film is about an Irish and a Syrian family living as neighbours in a community housing project. The story follows the friendship developed by a young Irish boy, Paddy, and a young Syrian girl, Aamira. Their innocence breaks down barriers and brings them together as best friends.

In 2023, the first Puppy Ireland pageant was held. Three hopefuls in the running for the sash, take us on the road to the crowning or in this case, hooding.

Meabh, a spirited fifteen-year-old, shields her two younger sisters, Lucy and Aine, from the ongoing neglect and abuse they are experiencing in their catholic children’s home by telling them transcendent Irish Fairy Tales. Desperate to protect them, Meabh takes the blame for her sisters’ rule breaking, resulting in severe punishment from the head nun, Sister Joan. Fearful her sisters will be adopted by another family without her, Meabh plots an escape.

Yet another tragic miscarriage sends Adaeze's life out of kilter leaving her torn between guilt, religious obligations and revealing the truth of an ill-fated medical diagnosis to her loving husband.
