A lazy potter is annoyed by the presence of the hard-working washerman. He makes sure that the king orders the washerman to wash a gray elephant white. The washerman sees through the bad intention and demands a pot in which he can wash the elephant. The lazy potter fails in this task and his attempt on the washerman's life is his own undoing.

The Nörgel clan divides the labor and produce more hats than they need for themselves. As consequence, they look into an exchange of products at a market in Leipzig.
