"Likely Stories" was one Pay-TV's first original comedy programs. The one-hour shows were a mixed-bag of short films, videos, and animation that helped define the cutting-edge of today's no-holds- barred cable comedy programming. Each episode was chock-full of notable comedy stars eager to dabble in pay-cable's new found freedoms.

It's the 1950s, and strait-laced Everdale University is about to go "co-ed"! In order to prepare its student body for the onslaught of "females" on campus, they present this hard-hitting educational film. Wally Bile is the "wrong-way" role model, according to health professor Dr. Bloom. Dr. Bloom explains the vital "do's and don'ts" on dating women, and the all-important "warning signs" and "danger signals" to look out for when close-encountering the opposite sex.

Second City Television alumnus Dave Thomas stars in this hilarious spoof of "America's Most Wanted." Thomas portrays Wynn Dalton, a talentless acting hopeful who bears an uncanny resemblance to Dwayne Gary Steckler (also played by Thomas), a psycho killer currently terrorizing the nation. When Dalton's mug lands him a role playing Steckler on a "true life" crime show, "All Points Bullitain," the real Steckler decides to take his place. Naturally, the ratings go through the roof. Mike Connors and Mary Gross costar.

He'd like to retire, but if he left the "family business" to his two idiot sons, they'd be dead in a minute. So he decides to go legit, which convinces everyone that he must be completely off the deep end. To preserve their cushy lives, his dysfuntional family conspires to get him some psycho-therepy. So his boys kidnap a "piasan" shrink and order him to "fix" their father. This film, which premired on Showtime, pre-dated the very similarly plotted "Analyze This" by over a year.
