Shot in film and hand processed by the director for over 20 years, Lucefece mixes personal, political and mythical views on reality exorcizing old ghosts. Stories from the director's childhood, together with conversations with his father, that fought in the colonial war in Africa and later was arrested, prepare the scenario for a profound reflexion on today's world. The film spirals like a snake travelling through time, an eternal recurrence, mixing documentary with film essay and autobiographical tones.

Anxo returns to his home village in the Galician countryside. There, he is greeted with concern by the victorious and the defeated, who see in him the danger of diving back into their silenced memories.

Ulises, who suffers from a marked psychomotor disorder, is cared for by his brother. One day he leaves the family home and decides to bury himself alive. His brother, desperate, finds him and convinces him to return, but he no longer knows what to do to protect him. One morning, a peddler knocks on the door and they invite him to spend the night at home. The next day Ulises decides to go with him. After traveling for a while, he offers his heart to the vendor.

A photographer’s journey between past and present, as she develops a project on the concentration camps of the Spanish dictatorship, gradually reveals a cartography of the memory of the defeated.
