Honami Saotome seems to have the ideal life, working as a fashion model. Behind her perfect face is an unfortunate girl who born into a family that has a long history of "the ugly bug". Since childhood, she was bullied for being ugly, and to start a new life, she decides to have plastic surgery on her entire body. Nobody knows that behind her glamorous lifestyle, there is a girl afraid that her secret may be found out, or that her face may fall apart. The drama has Okada playing the part of Shiba Kengo, a pure-hearted young surgeon who is dedicated to his work. A young, mentally retarded boy is wrongfully accused of murder, but his family lacks the means to hire an attorney to defend him. The boy’s sister, Kiriko, pleads with an accomplished attorney named Otsuka to defend her brother pro bono. But because of Otsuka’s busy schedule and other priorities, he refuses to take the case. Lacking a proper defense, Kiriko’s brother is eventually convicted of murder, and dies in prison. From that point on, Kiriko is determined to take revenge against Otuska.

The show is based on the "Jiu" suspense novel series by Honda Tetsuya. Motoko (Kuroki) is a fierce, physically capable investigator with a strong battle instinct, while Misaki (Tabe) is more intellectual, kind-hearted, and naive. The two of them are both working to track down Jiu, the ringleader responsible for a series of brutal crimes.
