This film is not about Oleg Yankovsky in the usual sense: not a biography of a great actor, not a review of roles. And not the sharp facts from his personal life. Although it's all in the film: a dramatic fate, unknown pages of biography. Like any great actor, he possessed a secret - he did not tell both in the movies and in life. But his main gift was not even acting. Yankovsky was talented at making people fall in love with him. I wanted to look at him again and again: that's why they loved him and still love him.

Musical drama

Lyokha, a former police sniper with post-traumatic stress disorder, in the midst of an alcoholic binge learns about the fatal illness of his sister Katya. Katya does not want her daughter to be sent to an orphanage after death, and asks Lyokha to take up her head so that he becomes a guardian for an eight-year-old girl. Lyokha has already lost many close people in his life, so he does everything to help his sister: he picks up old connections and gets a job at the police station. The area turns out to be difficult. The criminals that Lyokha must catch are fairy-tale characters: the Serpent Gorynych, Baba Yaga and other evil spirits. And if the former sniper does not have problems with the capture of villains, then attempts to become a good guardian become a real test for Lyokha.

Even before perestroika, there was a special laboratory at the Institute of Information Technologies in the USSR, where people’s extrasensory abilities were studied, with the aim of explaining them from a scientific perspective. It was there that Nikolai Arbenin and Viktor Stavitsky first met. Their rivalry, which began as a struggle between two men for a woman’s heart, over the years grew into a real “battle of the psychics” — only it takes place not on television, but in real life. Late 1988 – early 1989: a time when psychics packed full halls; they performed live on radio and on central television channels.
