The second is the heated debate that erupted in Lima regarding free trade, among various thinkers and members of the Consulate Tribunal. The third is the anonymous publication in Buenos Aires of the text written by José de la Riva Agüero y Sánchez Boquete, entitled "Historical and Political Manifesto of the Revolution of America," in which he outlines twenty-eight causes justifying the insurgency against the Spanish regime in America.
