Erik and Karim are people smugglers bringing refugees through the Swedish wetlands. One day they meet Maria a mother hoping to cross the border with her infant. Soon she will be faced with an impossible choice.

The Francophile Thomas becomes delighted when his daughter Louise brings her French boyfriend to the childhood home.

At the police station, a woman accuses her husband of sexually exploiting children. The frustration and outrage increases when she is not taken seriously. The condensed and emotionally charged atmosphere is evident in an intense and poignant film, where her testimony is pitted against her husbands.

Director Jakob is in the middle of recording when he becomes obsessed with the authenticity of a cosmetic hickey. Despite repeating his mantra of assuming responsibility, he soon oversteps all boundaries and ends up in a pinch with his own self-image.
