Five Pounds

The film is about the love story of a dancer and a singer who works with her. It is a one-sided love as the singer sees her as a colleague. The dancer tries to marry the man she loves but he refuses. He meets a beautiful girl who makes his heart beat, so he confides in her and they reciprocate, as she also has a beautiful voice. When the dancer learns of the singer's love story, she tries to take revenge on them.

Master Ghandour sets up the Iraqi woman's soul by writing a forged contract without her knowledge. He is thinking of solving this problem by marrying her, but (without knowing that it is a plan by Master Ghandour) she stipulates that she will not marry before her daughter, Malbasa, marries. So Master Ghandour nominates his son, Mahboob, as a suitable groom for Malbasa, but she falls in love. Sugar, her cousin, a pulp merchant.

Fouad is a disabled man who turns to literature to cope with his isolation. He falls for a beautiful girl named Widad, but she only feels sorry for him. Instead, she falls for his brother Gamil, a handsome young man who's also reckless.
