Vlad, a Russian businessman, who is going to participate in the elections for deputies, has got some problems with the articulation and he hires a speech therapist, Dasha - the poor girl of 25 years old who has moved to Moscow from a small town and now is searching for women's happiness in the capital of Russia. Dasha falls in love with Vlad almost at first sight finding him to be so polite, generous and educated and now she is making plans to win his heart, but the things are changed when Dasha finds out that Vlad is married for 15 years to a beautiful woman.

The story takes place in 18th century russia. empress elizabeth’s confessor, monk named Lavr, is exiled to a monastery in a haunted mountainous region, taking his secret ancient knowledge with him. Years later, the empress sends her godson Andrey to bring the monk back. Andrey travels to the ill-famed place and meets with Lavr, but before they can return to St. Petersburg they must face evil forces and creatures of the dark side.

For many years, separated by a river, two large families lived side by side in a remote Ural village: the Skolchins and the Ermakovs. After the revolution, they found themselves in two irreconcilable camps. But their children fell in love with each other, and the fates of the descendants of these two families became entwined in a tight tangle.

The exciting conversations with the guest help Foka to understand the daily reality of his life - the parent's quarrels, the elder sister's hysterics, his first successes and failures in school. In this world of visions and adventures the boy will go through his growing up period. But where is the borderline between the world of night dreams and reality?
