The Waves of the Sea and Love

Marie, the daughter of a miner, is pregnant and has been abandoned by the father of her child. Taken in and married by a fellow miner, she sees her former lover suddenly reappear and assert his rights over her. A violent altercation then breaks out between the two men in the mine shaft. A gas leak triggers an explosion that buries them. Luciano Albertini performed sensational stunts at dizzying heights, filmed on the cliffs of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains or on imposing railway bridges. The tragic and sensational film culminates in a spectacular climb, a fall, and a rescue operation on the cliffs.

Knight Dietwald von Falkenau returns from his trip to see the Pope through Berchtesgaden to his cloister. He was unsuccessful in his mission to have the papal ban against his emperor lifted. The young Walti, who works in the cloister, jokes with the cloister' cook, Severin, because Dietwald's cold stare scared him. Severin rebukes him, saying that Dietwald has been carrying a heavy burden. Once, Dietwald had his own fortress. This, however, was destroyed during an attack and his wife killed. Since then, he has not seen his daughter again.
