The story of a group of teenagers in high school in Utrecht, The Netherlands, in their search for friendship, love, their own identity, and overcoming fears.

The Spanish family Gabarre-Mendoza is celebrating a birthday, when it is interrupted by a police inspection. In ‘La Cañada Real’, a shanty town just outside Madrid, the inhabitants are forced to leave their illegal homes. Each member of the family struggles in their own way with their unstable position.

Amor shows, in a number of fragmentary scenes, painful but recognizable moments in an arbitrary day in the lives of a group of vulnerable teenage girls in the outskirts of a big city in the Netherlands.
