In the last days of the Second World War, a deserting soldier disrupts a tranquil and isolated mountain community. For one family, his arrival brings excitement and romance, but tragedy lies in wait.

The film follows three young teachers in three different Italian regions.

In northern Argentina it is said that La Salamanca is a sacred place. They say that it is a cave, a clearing in the mountains or a bend in the river where whoever has enough courage can invoke the Devil (the “Zupay”) to propose a pact: his soul in exchange for a gift. The first step is to renounce the Christian faith.

Nadea and Sveta is a film about friendship and complicity between migrant women. It tells a story about motherhood, love, escape from loneliness and search for home. A film between Eastern and Western Europe. Like many other Moldovan women, Nadea and Sveta moved to Italy for economic reasons. They had to leave their families back home in Moldova. Nadea's sons are grown up, whereas Sveta has left her 3-year old daughter with her grandmother. In 2010, after more than two years, Sveta can finally go back home to meet her daughter again. With her friend leaving Italy, Nadea reacts to loneliness and begins to go out in order to meet new people. The stories of the two friends will cross and their destiny will be reversed.

Licu is born in Bangladesh and he's a 27 years old muslim living in Rome, in a rented house with eigth other people. He works in a warehouse in the morning and in a deli shop at night: 12 hours a day. One day he receives a photo from his family of the spouse they choose for him, so he must take four weeks of unpaid holidays to get back in Bangladesh and set up his marriage with a girl he doesn't know. But in his country things are about to get complicated.
