Fed-up with his violent daily life, former Marseilles police officer Alex Hugo leaves the city and the violence he can no longer bear.

Dominique Dumas is raising her 18-year-old son Antoine alone. Optimistic and energetic, she didn't hesitate for a second when she came across what she considered a golden opportunity: Gustave shoes were looking for a general manager. After passing the tests with flying colors, Dominique makes her debut in her new position. What she doesn't know is that she's actually been hired to sink the company. Contrary to what the recruiters had intended, however, Dominique proves to be an outstanding manager, full of resourcefulness and genius ideas, and soon turns the company around...

The corpse of a man, a bovine tag attached to his neck with the words "Can they suffer? "is found in a large slaughterhouse and meat packing plant in the Manosque region. The suspicions of the young inspector Samira Masson, whose first investigation this is, naturally lead her to an association for the defence of the animal condition which had been orchestrating a media hype against the company for some time. But the corpse turns out to be that of an undercover cop, belonging to a genuine and little-known division of the police, specialising in national veterinary surveillance. Etienne Barjac, commander of the IGPN, the police force, is sent to investigate.

The film is based on a novel by Anna Gavalda, and adapted for the small screen by M. Langlois and Veronique Lecharpy. The idea that a formal academic school program is traditionally seen as the way for young minds to be formed and molded, yet how many children that are deemed failures by the same system go on to make names for themselves as they discover fields and subjects not taught by the educational establishment world-wide.

Monsieur Joseph is a respected citizen of a small town in the North of France. For over four decades he has run a specialized bookshop in the shopping square of the town. Every morning before opening his shop, he has a nice cup of black coffee at the local cafe where he has a nice small talk with Julien, the barkeeper, and with the regulars. Everybody likes him. At least everybody did... Everything actually started to change the night his young wife Tina disappeared without trace. Now, Monsieur Joseph has become Youssef again, he is again the "foreigner" (wasn't he born of Kabyle parents?), the shady foreigner, the frightening foreigner... He can't but have murdered his wife, all the more as another woman was killed four years before without the culprit having been arrested. There is no smoke without fire, is there?...
