When Conny died at the age of only 47, his son Stephan was just 13 years old. Twenty-five years later, together with co-director Reto Caduff, he went in search of the man he often only experienced behind the mixing desk as a child. At the same time it became the search for the artistic legacy of his father.

Tatort is a long-running German/Austrian/Swiss crime television series set in various parts of these countries. The show is broadcast on the channels of ARD in Germany, ORF in Austria and SF1 in Switzerland.

Hamburg-based photographer Kim Wenrich returns to her hometown of Nebra to give a statement to the police. Her father, Paul, is suspected of murder: he allegedly stabbed his former best friend, Arko Haumann, during an argument. Decades earlier, the two men had discovered the Bronze Age Nebra Sky Disc, one of the most significant archaeological finds of the 20th century. Detective Ritter is counting on Kim’s help to solve this strange case. He wants to know why that sensational discovery turned the treasure hunters into such bitter enemies. Convinced of her father’s innocence, Kim dismisses the idea the disc carries a deadly curse, a superstition feared by some in the small town. Although she initially intends to return to Hamburg as soon as possible, she begins to pursue the truth after finding a mysterious letter from her father and being reminded by her childhood friend Jonny of a secret from their youth. In doing so, she embarks on a journey into the darkness of buried memories.

Just as in the Kimiko anime, hostile powers are planning a massive electric blackout to destroy the city, maybe even humanity itself. And while Mia tries to save everybody from the imminent crisis, it's her own stability which seems to be put at stake.

Lolita-like Ari, is blonde, pouting and lives in a world of bright colours, frustrated by her mother still treating her as a child, while arty Oona dresses in black and is treated as an adult by her artist father. When Oona’s father commits suicide after his wife has an affair with his brother Lukas, Oona starts to self-harm, but finds and unlikely friendship with Ari. Ari’s enthusiasm for exerting her sexuality rebounds when she starts an affair with Oona’s uncle, who has recently moved in with Oona’s mother.
