Private detective Ferdinand Zankl is arrested by the Passau police on suspicion of murder. He is suspected of having killed his ex-girlfriend, an animal shelter manager.

A policewoman from Berlin who testified against an Arab clan boss is starting a new life in Passau with her daughter under a new identity and with the support of witness protection. The policewoman, who until recently was a group leader in the Mobile Task Force (MEK), now calls herself Frederike Bader, her daughter Mia Bader. In Passau, she meets private detective Ferdinand Zankl. In a supermarket, she rescues him from a violent confrontation with a shoplifter.

Bruno is not just any cop. He is Boom Boom Bruno, the district's cowboy. Everything here is under his control. His criminals, his hookers, his boss. He is thrilled with his new partner Mark – it's up to him to teach this insecure boy to be a real man with balls. When a drag queen is found dead on his turf, however, both Bruno and Mark must fight their own prejudices and meet resistance coming from all sides to solve the case.

Damon is 27 years old, tattooed, sports a Mohawk haircut and works as a prostitute. Actually, at his age, he is almost too old for all of this and soon he will have to decide whether to remain part of that milieu and eventually destroy himself or find a way out.
