The Cherry Orchard

Five-year-old Alina has to go through the trials of loss, to realize early what death, and betrayal are and to learn the cruelty of the surrounding world in which everyone remains for himself.

Boris heads to his ex-wife Anna’s country house to collect his belongings. Besides his former wife, her new husband is also living there. To avoid feeling awkward, Boris meets an attractive young woman on his way out of town and asks her to pretend to be his new girlfriend. Anna is stunned by her ex-husband’s audacity, and jealousy quickly takes hold of her. It soon becomes clear that not all feelings between the former spouses have faded away.
