The Desilu Story

This documentary presents the story of Dorothy Stratten, who was Playboy magazine’s Playmate of the Year in 1980. Stratten was murdered by her husband, Paul Snider. The film investigates the playmate’s past, the dynamics of her relationship with her husband, and the events surrounding her violent demise.

Bing Crosby profiled through music and witnesses, including Fred Astaire, Rosemary Clooney, Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Shore, Dean Martin and James Van Heusen.

The special is hosted by Tony Danza and Annie Potts celebrating 50 years of William Hanna and Joseph Barbera's partnership in animation. This is the first animated project to be broadcast in Dolby Surround sound system.

Jane Goodall has spent five years observing the chimps in Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika), Africa. One of her discoveries is that they use primitive tools. The film shows the life of the chimps. Retrospective note: This documentary features remarkable historical footage of Goodall, her original camp, and the Gombe chimpanzees. It shows the early years of Goodall establishing the site before it went on to become a world-renowned research center.
