Vlasta Burian, as a stowaway, disrupts the disciplined operation of a railway station. Mr. Ťopka gives the impression of a gentleman, somewhat Chaplin-like. One day, he even discovers with horror that he has gone completely deaf and that he must therefore leave his job...

Country tailor Florian Svíčička neglects his work because of his interest in medieval history.
