The Jarana’s Journey

This film is a story, testimony and documentation of the forced disappearance of 43 student teachers, which exposes the criminal complicity between the police and military authorities, between the political and economic elites and criminal organizations in Mexico, which appear to be different forces, but respond to similar interests.

This is a portrait of painter Lucinda Urrusti (Melilla, Spanish Morocco, 1926), who came to Mexico in 1939 with her parents and brother as refugees of the Spanish Civil War. For Lucinda, what matters most in life is art and her family.

History of a Movement is a documentary where a group of friends recount their experiences in the #YoSoy132 student movement, reflecting on how it sparked other significant social movements like Ayotzinapa.
