Like a Bird

Four years after the end of the German Democratic Republic, Katarina Witt, two-time Olympic champion, is planning her comeback to prove to herself and to a united Germany that she still has what it takes. To do this, she has to team up with her former coach Jutta Müller and complete the toughest training of her life.

Tatort is a long-running German/Austrian/Swiss crime television series set in various parts of these countries. The show is broadcast on the channels of ARD in Germany, ORF in Austria and SF1 in Switzerland.

A moving love story in a time of hatred: During the civil war in Kosovo, the young Serbian widow Danica falls in love with Ramiz, a Albanian soldier who, wounded in battle, seeks refuge in her home on the Serbian side of the River Ibar.

After her daughter's fatal accident at a busy intersection, Jenni is confronted with videos on the web of Mia dying. Instead of helping, passersby were filming with their cell phones. The horrific images won't let Jenni go. Horror and rage at the gawkers' pitiless curiosity take her completely captive. There is hardly any room for her grief; instead, she obsessively searches for the accident spectators in order to confront them with the consequences of their sensationalism. She finds what she's looking for – but her first encounters don't help her. No one seems aware of any wrongdoing, or capable of admitting it. Supported by a tough lawyer, Jenni decides to take action against the sensationalists.

Physiotherapist Julika is young, attractive, mother of two cute children - and widow. Two years ago her husband Michi died in an accident. Julika still misses him sorely, even speaks regularly to his mailbox. Nevertheless, she embarks on an affair head over heels with the easy-going bicycle city guide Konstantin. For her loving, but sometimes encroaching parents-in-law Georg and Christa, the case is clear: the affair with Konstantin can only be a temporary aberration. After Michi's death, both of them stood by the mourning young woman and the children. The family is very close and even lives on the same piece of ground. With Konstantin, this whole well-established family structure falls into disarray. But is that what it feels like? Can there be a second great love for Julika?

The tide washes up a slain Viking warrior on the beach in Husum: the unusual "dead body by the sea" is not a case for historians, however, but for the police and detective Ria Larsen. Marlene Tanczik plays the battered but combative investigator in the second film in the Saturday evening crime series on the first channel. Christoph Letkowski plays her partner Brandt, who believes in Ria's special abilities and is loyal to her.

Guesthouse landlady Sophie and Barthl, her unloved stablemate for life, have unusual holiday guests come to their house. Janine Brieschke from Berlin is traveling with her three children from three fathers and her current partner “Zecke”. Barthl would like to immediately chase the capital city residents who are making a lot of noise and trampling his beloved meadows off the farm.
