Le bonheur se porte large

A troubled gentleman named David ponders whether vegemite can be consumed undiluted without posing a health risk. Meanwhile his friend, a senior government official, returning from an evening, has a car accident and his passenger dies in the accident. He puts the corpse in the driver's seat, but there is a witness. To eliminate this annoying witness, he calls on his David, a physicist, who wants to make it a perfect crime by quantifying the risk taken in each of its stages. And compressing it enough to make the execution of the most improbable.

In this comedy, the requirements of living a respectable life grow too great for Maurice, as do the burdens of his well-paid executive position. After getting fired when a business proposal he has worked on is translated very badly to his English boss, he confides that he has lost his job to his wife. When she freaks out about that, he gets into his camper and heads south. There, a group of wandering Arab thieves rob him of everything he has of value but then admit him into their circle, calling him "Mohamed." One of their best scams comes when the newly renamed executive proposes that they rob his Paris home to raise money to start a restaurant. Though they are thieves, these new friends show every evidence of having more loyalty, good cheer, and basic morality than the associates the hero left behind.

In this satire, a police detectiveis investigating the disappearance and kidnapping of the host of a television dance show. However, instead of finding his man, he is trapped into becoming a contestant on a children's quiz show. What's worse is that he becomes a very successful contestant.
