2030 Kanata no Kazoku

Ohisama is a Japanese television drama that aired on NHK in 2011 in the Asadora time slot. Set in Nagano prefecture, "Ohisama" covers the life of Yoko Sudo (Mao Inoue) through World War II. Yoko Sudo with her smile is able to bring brightness to those around her & she follows her mother's motif to laugh through the hard times. During the onset of WW II, Yoko is a high school student and "Ohisama" follows her as she eventually becomes a teacher and then gets married and has a child. Wataru, a freelance cameraman who works for a travel magazine in Tokyo. He had aimed to be a teacher but failed to achieve his goal and left home to go to Tokyo. However, he does not do well in Tokyo and has to return to his hometown. Wataru reunites with his former girlfriend who is a primary school teacher now and through his interaction with his family, friends and a group of primary school students who want to take part in a choir contest, he begins to take steps to resurrect his dream of being a teacher.

Hirono Seiji is a doctor who transfers from the general ward to the convalescent ward on a part-time basis, and along with Henmi he becomes involved in the affairs of the patients and their families.

The editor regards Ryu as a candidate to be the next editor and pins his hopes on him. But at home, Ryu’s wife Sae, who works part-time at the library while supporting the family as a housewife, is disgruntled that he cares only about his work. One day, Ryu breathes heavily, breaks out in cold sweat and is assailed by a deep sense of unease on the train. This is his first panic attack. A proud and vain man, Ryu cannot bring himself to confess his illness to his company and his family.

25-year-old Ichikawa Eiko works in general affairs. Even when she does her job properly, she doesn't get much recognition and is often scolded for even small failures. When she's depressed, she says, "I want to be praised", and gets overheard by her senior Bando. He tells her, "So enthusiastic, like the Nebuta Festival!" and "Ninja-like work!" and while she's confused by his way of praising, she gradually grows more comfortable with it.
