Spellbound by Beauty

Thirteen year old Julija and her mother flee their abusive household to find refuge on an idyllic Croatian island where Julija grew up. Emotionally scarred, Julija is desperate to reconnect with her best friend, Ana. But Ana is in love with a boy and Julija is no longer a priority.

28-year-old Aleksi is stuck living with her parents. Desperate to escape the safe but boring bourgeois life her family has intended for her, she shirks her duties and becomes entangled with various romantic interests.

On a school trip, Stefani navigates her sexual anxiety amid increasing pressures from her friends and the boy she likes.

The oldest sister is moving abroad for college, and her younger brother and sister start a battle for her little room. They both want to move out of the big room where they sleep with their parents and finally get some privacy.

Amra is an attractive and talented teenager living in the outskirts of Zagreb. Her dirty rap music has made her quite popular in the neighborhood. She has plans to shoot a music video, but she is supposed to babysit her sister. Amra is not willing to sacrifice her big chance.

While parquet floors are drying out in the apartment they've just moved in a couple of days ago, her and him are spending the night on the rooftop of their building. It's the end of summer, and their whole life together is in front of them. Premiered at Zagreb Film Festival in 2009 in Checkers programme (Croatian shorts), where it won the Golden Pram, the best film award.
