An Ode to the Earthworm

Surgeon Asami Hanaoka is in financial difficulty. A gang soon plot to takeover the hospital.

Three social outcasts who live near the seaside interact with each other in increasingly disturbing ways. The trio of characters are a woman who has killed her sister, a man who enjoys necrophilia, and a female amnesiac. The first woman engages in sadistic pursuits such as capturing young women at the beach to force them to engage in sexual activities, including copulation with a horse and a dog.

Seventeen-year-old Misaki endures a life marred by tragedy and abuse. Abandoned by her mother and forced to care for her bedridden sister, her home life becomes a battlefield of psychological terror, dominated by a father whose actions cross into the realm of the unthinkable. At school, Misaki finds no solace as her closest friend succumbs to the allure of degradation for material gain. The culmination of her suffering arrives through a series of brutal assaults, each encounter dragging her further into a vortex of despair, with only a mentally ill homeless woman offering a semblance of maternal comfort.

A member of the Air Self-Defense Force learns of a crucial national secret: that conscription will be introduced to Japan. Pursued by the state, the man and his wife attempt to flee to her parents' home, but along the way they meet a carefree young man who loves movies. Meanwhile, back in his rural hometown, his father-in-law is in critical condition, but his sister-in-law neglects to care for him and instead engages in phone sex with him.

An abusive psychologist enjoys torturing and abusing his wife. After rough sexual session of pain and dominance she decides to leave her husband. Then her masochistic twin sister arrives and of course plenty of kinky sexual torture and bondage happens next.

What lasts longer, the time before birth or the time after death? In the 1990's, Kenjo dies in a terrorist gas attack. His girlfriend Haruka is killed by a man she meets as a street prostitute. In 2002, Kenji and Haruka who should already be dead, meet again and a new story begins.

A woman is raped on a crowded subway but no one reports it to the police. A TV studio exploits the incident to boost ratings. Even the reporter sent to interview the gang members who committed the crime is victimized.

Three bad high school students who are preparing for the graduation ceremony are caught up in a battle with Yakuza after encountering a Korean in Japan and Yuki Yappa who has been married to him. A youth adventure drama with a powerful depiction of "Japan" and "Asia" that emerges from various nationalities.

A nurse starts to investigate why a woman who came to her office committed suicide. She discovers that a Yakuza gang is using an unusual drug to sexually enslave women. But she gets caught and when she is injected with the drug rather gruesome side effects appear, much to the surprise of the gang.

A middle-aged man walks up to young man who is sitting under a tree and shoots him. The film then flashes back to 1981, where a young woman steals a car with a baby strapped inside. She decides to raise the child as her own, and teaches him to shoplift from stores while she works as a prostitute. She strikes up a relationship with a convenience-store clerk, and the two eventually settle down together.

Rie, who moved to Tokyo from a rural mining town and is penniless after being cheated by her boyfriend, enters the world of underground wrestling by chance. This is a ridiculous ensemble drama inspired by Shinji Somai's "Luminous Woman" and incorporating the setting of "Tomorrow's Joe" (Ashita no Joe). Starring Aya Mizutorigawa, an idol of the pink film industry at the time.

A man with a troubled past including incest with a younger sister and the murder of a woman travels to an isolated countryside town in Nagano. There a local who mistakes him for a famous television actor shows him the town's sites, including a strip bar in which the performers remove Heian era costumes. The film's narrative is in an allegorical and disjointed manner with references to Buddhist concepts.

Set towards the end of World War II, Nomura (Masatoshi Nagase) is a writer who is in despair. A woman works in bar and is a former prostitute. Many years ago, her father sold her to a brothel due to the family's severe financial hardships. The writer and the woman then agree to live as husband and wife until the war ends. The woman doesn't feel sexual pleasures due to her past, while the man lusts for the woman's body. Meanwhile, Ohira (Jun Murakami) fought for Japan in China. He participated in unconscionable acts against civilians in the name of war. He returns to Japan with only one arm. Ohira then begins to prey on innocent women.

The film depicts Nagatoshi, a monk, who is mistaken for the reincarnation of a hero in a small mountain village who looks exactly like him, and who rebels against the government together with the farmers. Unlike its predecessor, which was a period drama in style, this film is more contemporary, incorporating issues such as corruption at a general contractor. The dynamism of the farmers' revolt, with its mass mobilization of extras, is also a highlight of the film.

A former Self-Defense Force officer who returns to his hometown with his comrades to fight for his life. A woman who comes to trace the trail of her husband, who has been missing for seven years. A woman who wants something stimulating in her boring village. A man and his daughter who left his wife without giving a reason and drifted to a fishing village in the north to live in seclusion. The lives of these five people intersect for a moment and are eventually dismantled again.

　A sequel to "Destroy the Evil", it follows the protagonist of the previous film, who is pursued by the yakuza and moves to a rural town in Chiba. The story concludes with a tragic ending, but as the title "Keep running, keep running!" At the end of the film, there is an image shot of the protagonists who continue to run, as the title suggests, and this is a strong statement to the director himself and to the audience.
