Kuttyedathi is a 1971 Malayalam language film directed by P. N. Menon and written by M. T. Vasudevan Nair. Widely regarded as one of the best South Indian films made in the 1970s. Baputty goes to his friend Abdu's house after his death to support his family and falls for Nabeesa, Abdu's sister. However, Nabeesa's greedy mother tries to get her close to the rich Kunjali.

Santha is a cheerful girl who is working in a lodge as a sweeper. She is well-liked by everyone in the lodge. Dinesh is in love with her. But one day Santha is found dead in the nearby well, and an investigation ensues.
