A woman and her daughter struggle to make their way through the aftermath of the Balkan war.

The story of Enric Duran, a Catalan activist who, during the economic crisis of 2008, stole —by borrowing loans that he never paid back— half a million euros from banks, donated them to social projects and announced it to the media to denounce the practices of the banking system.

Marc Schrader, a rookie cop caught red-handed with drugs in a police raid of an illegal rave, joins a homicide investigation conducted by Chief Inspector Minks. The victim is a naked young woman with the skin stripped off her back, killed as she staggered into traffic. As Schrader and Minks investigate the murder, the case is complicated by a finger found in the stomach of the victim. Forensic examination proves the finger belongs to Nobert Günzel, who was previously convicted of rape and assault. The police raid Günzel’s residence, and discover a blood-stained table with restraints and bits of human flesh in his basement. They also find video equipment and preserved, tattooed skin from the victim’s back. Soon, they found dead bodies buried in the garden. Günzel then goes missing.

Gigi's friend Sturzi decides to make a comeback and persuades his former teammates, who have put on weight, such as the village priest, to join him. Gigi also digs out his skates in the hope of winning back his ex-wife Jenny and impressing his son, who is considered a talented goalie.

Katrin and Jürgen spend their holidays in Corsica. Katrin is in her mid-thirties, working as a tracer at Jürgen’s company who suddenly remembers he’s married – but not with Kathrin. So they decide to end their vacation earlier than they had planned. Virtually a second before they start to drive back to the airport, Katrin takes her belongings out of Jürgen’s car again and lets him go. Now being alone for the remaining days of her vacation, Katrin finds herself more and more bewildered by the things that happened to her.

Here she finally wants to take care of her daughter Sarah, who is in a marital crisis. But nothing goes as planned: Sarah resists her domineering mother, and Carla's promised position is already occupied by someone else. The pastor is forced to take over a small church in Sauerland, where she has to start from scratch.
