My Little One

The world is on the verge of collapse. Climate crisis, loss of biodiversity, infertile soils, overpopulation... Frédéric Choffat's two children, 13 and 17 years old, confront him.

In 2009, in a small theater in Geneva, Switzerland, the film directors Marcel Ophuls and Jean-Luc Godard met for an unusual, surprisngly intimate and sometimes contentious dialogue with each other in front of a live audience. Luckily for us, it was filmed.

A young woman returns with her son to an isolated beach on the pacific coast in southern Mexico to find peace with her ghosts.

Geneva train station. A woman leaves for Marseilles to give a conference. A man is on his way to Berlin to discover his new born child. A young woman is off to live in Naples. When one person invites itself to take a seat next to someone else, a new reality can start off. Three people meeting, three life stories which switch on the platform of a railway station.

Taos, a very beautiful young lady, meets regularly a man in the zoo of Algiers. There, the couples of lovers feel ill at ease in front of the hostile glances of the walkers and find intimacy only shielded by the vegetation. One day, Taos waits in vain for her lover. For the first time, she is alone in the garden. She roams, soon harassed by a group of kids, then by a guard.

A contemporary opera by Toshio Hosokawa on the original text by Edgar Allan Poe. Interpretation by the Nouvel Ensemble Contemporain NEC in collaboration with the Museum of Fine Arts of La Chaux-de-Fonds, November 2013.
