A new chairman arrives at the Zarya collective farm with the firm intention of creating a model farm there. But from the very beginning, his work is complicated by his difficult relationship with the young agronomist Svetlana Nikitina.

How to save the village? How to keep people in it? How to manage the land adjacent to large construction sites? The last inhabitants of the village are trying to solve these problems.

Near the suburban highway stands a water tower, and behind its fence live a mechanic, his wife, and their adopted son, who is disabled. One day, a family from the capital becomes guests in their modest home—their car broke down on the road. This sudden clash between "city and country" will be a serious test for the young hero of the film. And not only for him.

A film anthology featuring three stories: 1) “The Capron Christmas Tree” - Two men and a city dandy, courting a village girl, return home on New Year’s Eve, with the dandy’s nylon Christmas tree gift offending the men. 2) “A Ticket for the Second Showing” - Timofey, an elderly village swindler, regrets his life and prays to Saint Nicholas for a second chance. 3) “The Version” - A rural braggart recounts his city adventure with a restaurant manager, challenging disbelievers to join him on a repeat trip.

In the Siberian taiga village of Wolf's Burrows, the Strogov family lives — Matvey with his wife Anna and his parents. Through the fate of this peasant family, a picture of the life of the Siberian region during major historical events — the Russo-Japanese War, the 1905 Revolution, the October Revolution of 1917 and the Civil War is outlined.

One evening Grisha dares to approach Polinka, a girl from the neighbouring village he has admired for a long time. They begin to date and all goes well until the day when Grisha’s impudent friend Kostya decides to ridicule Polinka in public.

The film takes place during one day of operation of a railway line, the capacity of which is lower than necessary. A disaster occurs: a passenger train crashes into a tank train, the driver's assistant is killed, and traffic on the section is delayed. The film explores the patterns that led to the accident.

A chronicle of life in a small village in the Baikal Region on the eve of World War I and at the time of the October Revolution. The age-old foundations are crumbling, the process of social stratification is underway and, as a result, some people go to defend the revolution, and others - to fight against it. The main hero is the young Cossack Roman Ulybin. At first, this carefree daredevil is preoccupied only with one problem: whether his sweetheart, Dashutka, is to marry him or a merchant’s son, Alyoshka. Roman is killing time fist-fighting with his rival. But little by little, the young man realizes that the world around him has changed, that people are fighting for equality and social justice, and, being a real Cossack, he can’t remain on the sidelines…

Junior Lieutenant Maleshkin, an unshooted graduate of the school, commands the crew of the self-propelled gun SU-100. All the subordinates of Maleshkin are older than him and much more experienced. The authority of the young commander is tested at every step, he quarrels, then reconciles with his crew.

An inconspicuous, modest accountant, Sulin often finds himself in half-funny, half-sad situations - he is often timid, afraid to cross at least someone. Until one day an incident helped him remember that he, too, was once decisive and brave.

The film raises acute issues in construction, where, back in the 1970s, all the social shortcomings of large-scale but short-term production projects were concentrated: premature completion of projects, mismanagement, weak control, theft, and fraud.

By chance, two middle-aged people met - the telephone operator of the hotel Lina and the chief engineer of the construction department Kirillov, who had arrived on official business from Leningrad in one of the provincial cities of the country. Behind everyone has setbacks in family life. A sincere feeling that brought two lonely people closer together helped to see those around them in a new way. They are already over forty. Both are lonely. Having met by chance and fell in love with each other, they never became happy.

Comedy of manners with elements of grotesque. The hero of the tape - an employee of a solid research Institute San Sanych lubomudrov - an extraordinary personality. Charming trickster and subtle psychologist, he is fluent in the art of communicating with the "right" people.

Anna Georgievna Smirnova is a serious, businesslike and judicious person. It was these strengths of her character that helped the woman achieve high career results. Anna is a deputy and director of a textile factory in the Moscow region, who has long put an end to her personal life. She lives with her elderly mother. Her husband died, and her only daughter, Irina, is married. But suddenly, in a sanatorium in the southern resort of Anna, she meets a man named Volodya. He is a Muscovite, a former pilot, and now a driver. Volodya is younger than Anna, behind him two unsuccessful marriages. Between already middle-aged people a feeling of mutual sympathy erupts.

The film tells about the engineer Gorelikov, who, together with his disabled friend, opens a salon with computers for children and students. And suddenly they are attacked by a gang of racketeers.
