The Path of Our Dream

Hamo, an old farmer lives with his wife in a remote village in the mountains of Armenia. The money their son send them from Russia just allows them to survive. But Hamo nourishes a dream of acquiring a Moskvitch, the most beautiful car in the world, the one that had promised the Soviet power and that he never had.

An innocent girl in a village is bullied by her family and villagers for her poor behavior, and she is called Chnchik that means stupid instead of her real name. Her mistakes become a neighbor′s laughter, and her parents, who are not happy with this situation, are ashamed of her as well. However, she does not lose her dignity, and works alone to herd goats in the mountains far from the village. One day, she encounters an unfamiliar soldier who was isolated while he is training. They feel small compassion with each other and fall in love. However, a short, dreamlike moment of love on a midsummer day brings a permanent change to her life.

Filmed in the Armenian capital of Yerevan, Lusine Sargsyans drama depicts the lives of various individuals living in an apartment complex during the Armenian-Azerbadjanian war of the mid 1990’s. The situation is cruel and hard for the citizens of Yerevan. The need for food and electricity is dominating the international news from the city, while inside this abode in the centre of the city daily life goes on in spite of desperation. A rare narrative insight into a war that had a huge impact on Armenian life, Sargsyans five unique stories about relationships, struggles and faith preach a down-to-earth sermon about the cruelty of wars, and the strength of humour, love, and community.

Feature film created by 10 famous Armenian film directors and scriptwriters. The movie consists of 10 short stories lasting about seven minutes each, "10 life stories" beaded like "pearls" on an "endless thread" called Yerevan. Each story is shot in a definite genre and differs from the rest by its concept as well as signature, yet all the stories integrate into a bright mosaic, reflecting nowadays Yerevan life.

Forced to flee the police and his persecutors, Arman seeks refuge on the front lines of the Artsakh War. Trading a life of luxury for the harsh realities of the battlefield, he undergoes a profound transformation, earning the deep respect of military leaders and his fellow soldiers. When an unexpected personal tragedy forces him back into the crosshairs of his enemies in Yerevan, Arman must rely on his wartime connections to break free once and for all before returning to the front lines for a decisive mission to defend his homeland.
